Pollna has its roots in Killorglin, County Kerry. The name comes from Poll Na Lachain, a Gaelic place name that translates as “The Duck’s Hole.” Over a century ago, it referred to a spot where ducks would gather by a small hole of water, and locals in Killorglin still know it by that name today.
